How to Rename Multiple Files at Once

---
Changing the name of many files one by one is time consuming especially when you have a large number of items. You do not have to rename them individually when you have this trick of doing it in an instant by following method.

How to Edit Multiple File Names Instantly

1. Select all the files you are going to rename by pressing Ctrl + A or hold Shift on keyboard and individually click those files you are going to rename. To exclude any selected file hold shift (if you haven't already) and click those files.

2. Now press F2 and type the name and hit enter. All the files will be named according to your typed name with a number in bracket at the end.
In following picture I typed "Img" and you can see results.

This method still works even if you want to rename files of multiple formats instantly.

How to Rename Multiple Files According to Date

It's just simple modification of the above procedure:

1. Right click on window containing files created on different dates.

2. Go to Group by Date and all your files will be placed in groups according to date.

3. Select all files of specific group/date by single clicking the title of that group.

4. Press F2 to rename (prefix) for all these files.

Now I hope you can also figure out how to rename according to type, size, tags etc.
