Enable Find My Device Feature in Windows 10

--- No comments:
Find my device feature has been available on many devices including iOS and Androids targeting only smartphones and tablets. It lets us find the location of our device, if stolen. Until recently, this feature was only limited to smartphones and tablets since they are lost or stolen very easily. Since our laptops are getting thinner and lighter, they too are being lost or misplaced now.

Microsoft in the recent November 2015 update for Windows 10 (version 1511) included this feature in the operating system. Apple already has this feature in it's MacBook. So if you want this feature, make sure you have the latest windows 10 version 1511 installed. We will show you how to enable it step by step.

Access Shared Windows/Mac Files on iPhone, iPad and Android

--- No comments:
Shared folders on Windows or Mac, using the built-in sharing option, can be accessed from android devices, iPhone or iPad via wireless. You can watch movies (which are in your PC's hard disk) on your smartphone or tablet or just copy some files from your computer.

In short details you will share a folder from your computer, then install an app on your android or iPhone and access those shared folders.

Note: To access shared files your android or apple device should be connected to the same network/router as your computer is. To access the shared files, one must know the computer's username and password who have shared the files, so not everyone can access your data.

How to Create WiFi HotSpot in Windows 8 or 8.1

--- No comments:
You can share your device's WiFi so others can use it. In this way you can use your device as a router/repeater and extend the range of your signals. Unfortunately Windows 8 does not have an easy way to create WiFi Hotspot but we can do this with some easy commands using cmd. First you will have to find whether your network card in your device supports Hotspot sharing or not. Then you will create a hotspot. Then you will share it with others and at last you will share your present WiFi connection's internet access with the shared HotSpot connection

Homegroup allows you to share your files, videos, documents, pictures etc. between computers over your network but all computers must be connected to same router/network for this. Any device who have joined the homegroup can access your shared data but they cannot delete or modify it unless you give them permission to do it.

The biggest disadvantage of installing windows from CD/DVD is that if your disk got scratches, which is very much unavoidable, your installation will stop in the middle and all the time you spent installing goes in vain. So people get tired and try to keep their windows saved on hard disk. Also many new devices these days does not offer compact disk drive and some of you might have damaged your CD-ROM.

In all these cases you would be hoping for a better and safe method to install windows and that is from flash drive. So here's the steps:

Disk Cleanup Icon
Is your computer running very slow? It may be because of unnecessary files on your computer which includes error reporting files, log files, temporary internet files and more. These files are present for every user. They does not take much space but if you do not delete them regularly, they accumulate and eat your space and reduce your performance.

Windows includes disk cleanup utility by which you can remove temporary files without much effort. I recommend you to perform disk cleanup twice a month or more for every user on PC.

Windows 8.1 Desktop
Most of the users have complaint about Windows 8 that it only lets you boot to start menu instead of desktop. It is not very bad for touch devices but for other devices people are used to the old desktop view and place important things there. You can solve this by utilities available but fortunately Windows 8.1 enables you to go to desktop upon login.

How to Disable Automatic Maintenance in Windows 8

--- No comments:
Automatic maintenance performs processes like disk defragmentation, scheduled scan, check for solutions, error reporting, software updates e.t.c. By default it runs automatically in the background when computer is idle or at regular bases everyday. The idle maintenance may stop when computer is in use but regular one doesn't stop unless it is finished. While it is running, a clock icon is displayed over the action center icon in taskbar.

It is trouble for some users because while running, it reduce battery timing and performance of computer by triggering heavy processes.
